Associate Teachers
This two day workshop provides Associate Teachers with a wealth of knowledge about today's education environment and prepares them for life in and out of the classroom. Give your Associate Teachers the confidence and the practical tools to have a real impact on learning and ensure that every cover lesson is a meaningful educational experience for your students.
A stimulating and practical two-day full induction programme which will equip Associate Teachers with the skills, knowledge and experience to carry out their role as learning facilitators effectively and confidently.
The workshop covers a wide range of topics which will provide your Associate Teachers with an overview of the context in which they are working, as well as equipping them with practical skills and strategies for dealing with daily life in school and ensuring that they have a positive impact on the learning environment.
Day one: the context of education - an introduction to the National Curriculum and the current agenda e.g. Every Child Matters; Learning - how students learn, learning styles and intelligence theories; student needs - the range of Special Educational Needs (including Gifted and Talented students); effective presentation skills; planning for learning.
Day Two: positive behaviour management strategies; generic classroom activities including managed paired and group learning; Assessment for Learning; Child Protection; working as a team in school.
Both days provide excellent opportunities for the building of an external network to support the Associate Teacher in their role.
