Success in GCSE English is essential and undoubtedly literacy skills contribute to success in every subject. The period from September to the examinations is a very stressful time for Year 11 students and often independent revision can seem impossible. We offer a range of focused strategies to enable your students to reach their potential.
English GCSE is a demanding course which requires the students to display a range of sophisticated skills. Careful preparation leading up to the practice and final examinations has a significant impact on the end result. Sometimes knowing how to revise and what areas to concentrate on can prove difficult for individual students.
To help support your English Team, we can take the pressure out of organising revision sessions by delivering workshops at your school that cover the specific requirements of your syllabus. You decide the student audience, whether C/D borderline students or the most able striving to reach A*. You decide the time commitment, for example, a single one-day workshop or a series of Saturday morning sessions.
Workshops will involve a variety of fun but focused activities that explore punctuation, writing for specific audiences, analysing poetry and the media. With strategies to suit the different learning styles, together with clear guidelines on what the examiner is looking for, workshops will make a real difference to each student's GCSE grade.
